Environmental issues encompass nearly all aspects of any event, so it was important to narrow the focus of what environmental impacts we wanted to investigate after the Olympics. This is also tricky to separate from events outside of the Olympics as well. We talked to legal scholars, housing experts and photographers about some of the promises that were made to clean up Guarnabara Bay before the games and what progress has been made on those promises. We also learned about some ancillary infrastructure updates that should have been made during the revamp of the city during the mega-events and why or why not they did not happen.
